Experienced meteorologist needed to produce and anchor live weathercasts and severe weather coverage. This person will be responsible for producing and anchoring live and recorded weathercasts as well as top-notch severe weather coverage for WRAL-TV and other CBC platforms and partners, primarily but not exclusively on weekends. Individual will create crisp and informative graphics for on air use, as well as fresh content for WRAL.com and other new media platforms. Embracing and effectively using social media is essential to succeeding in this position. This individual will represent the station in the community by making public appearances and giving school and civic group talks. Three to five years television experience required; exceptional forecasting, communication, and presentation skills, as well as proficiency with computers and the Internet, are a must. Experience with dual-pol Doppler radar, Weather Central :Live and ESP, and Baron FasTrac strongly preferred. AMS Certified Broadcast Meteorologist designation (or combination of AMS/NWA seal and education for AMS CBM designation) also required. A four-year college degree in meteorology, atmospheric science, or related field and a pre-employment drug screening are required.
