2012 workshop

The RTDNAC student workshop, open to college and university students in North Carolina and South Carolina will be Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, from 9:15 a.m. until noon at Charlotte NBC affiliate WCNC-TV.

Registration begins at 9 a.m.

This year's workshop will begin with a tour of the NBC News channel, and three sessions, conducted by broadcast professionals from the Carolinas, include:

  • The Broadcast Voice

  • Reporting/anchoring

  • Producing TV newscasts

  • Production

  • Weathercasting

  • Sportscasting

  • Radio news

  • Photography

  • Web producing

  • How to land that first job

Students may bring samples of their work on DVDs (no other format is available) to be critiqued by professionals.

Directions to WCNC-TV, 1001 Wood Ridge Center Drive, Charlotte

WCNC-TV is east of Interstate 85 off the Billy Graham Parkway, and west of Interstate 77 off the Billy Graham Parkway. From Billy Graham Parkway, turn onto Westmont at the traffic signal. From Westmont, turn right on Wood Ridge Center Drive. WCNC is on the right. The entrance for the workshop is on the left side of the station, as you face it from the parking lot.
